1月上旬の雪以降、さわ野杜でカワセミを見ることがなくなったので、カワセミを見ようと那珂市の粟原釣り場に行きました。
途中の田んぼで、オオハクチョウの群れが採餌している様子を観察できました。
今まで白鳥は水面に浮かんでいるが飛んでいるところしか見たことがなかったので、いい場面に出会えました。
一番右に写っている個体の首の形は、図鑑に書かれている採餌時のフォルムそのままで面白かったです。
で、目的地の粟原釣り場ですが、1時間くらい眺めていれば半分以上の確率でカワセミに遭遇できている気がします。
釣り場には何カ所かカワセミが好きな場所があって、着いて早々、一番いて欲しい所にいたのですが、カメラを構えた瞬間逃げてしまいました。
焦って動きを早くしちゃうとダメですね、修行が足りないです。
周りを見回すと、カシラダカが梢にいました。
と思ったらすぐ飛び立ちました。
と思ったら、ほぼ同じところにホオジロがやってきて、さえずり始めました。
2月半ばでしたが、鳥たちは春を感じているのでしょうか。
電線に目をやると、モズのオスとメスが並んで止まっていました。
右側のモズは羽のところに白斑が見えるし、過眼線（目を貫く模様）の黒が濃いのでオス。
左側は白斑がなくて、過眼線の黒が薄いのでメス。
越冬中のモズはオス・メス関係なく1個体で縄張りを構えるので、ケンカになってもいいはずですが、しばらく仲良く止まっていたので、つがいになる（なった）のかもしれません。
で、時間が来てカメラを片付けて帰ろうとしていたところ、シロハラっぽい頭とくちばしだけど羽が茶色っぽくて、とはいえアカハラでもないなあというツグミ類がいたので、慌ててカメラを用意して撮ったのがこれ。
間に合わず、飛んでしまった。
でも、尾羽が茶褐色という特徴を捉えていてラッキーでした。
帰って調べたら、どうもハチジョウツグミというツグミの亜種のようでした。
探鳥会が復活したら、野鳥の会の人に確認してみます。
ということで、カワセミはほとんど見られませんでしたが、珍しい鳥が見られたかもしれない探鳥でした。
